Hey! :)
As i promised in my previous tweet i'm going to share some pictures on my latest painting.
In this entry you'll be able to read about the work of the painting so far :)
I've been working on with it since Thursday (26th september). First i began brainstorming words (e.g. mystery, myths, autumn, fairies, hope etc.) The idea of the painting was much inspired from the adventure i went on in August. Nonetheless there was some researching of different motifs i wanted to display and try on and later some photoshop on how i wanted my painting to look like. Just to have a preview and an approximate idea of how much of the mixed colours i would need for the different elements.) Once i was pleased with the photoshop-picture i began sketching up the figures on papers and puzzling it together. Then the work on the canvas began.

I failed with the background the first time... mostly because i had too much of a perfectionist mindset. Things never seem to work when you want something perfect so i totally remade the background; now with a more childish and free mind and from there it began to flow!
I worked with the background for two days, trying to create depth in a messy way. Once it was nice and dry it was time to create life and spark things up. My intention was to create a transparent shadow above the girl who sat down, however i realised it would be very complicated to get it as realistic and ghostly as it looked like in photoshop so i went to the crafty shop Panduro and bought some extra colour and material. On my way home I got an amazing idea.

The shadow of the bigger woman was completely covered in black sparkle. While the hill she was sitting on was painted in plain black as the normal sized woman later would be. The next day, meaning -today- i woke up to a wonderful sun and earlier than my alarm clock!
I added the completely black figure of the woman, extended the hill she was sitting on and made sure to cover all the glitter so that i only had the sparkle on the shadow. Then the birds were added and also covered in sparkle.

When that was done it was time for the frame. At first i thought of sketching it up however pretty soon i forgot about it and began painting freely. Mixing green, black and brown together to get different nuances and really work with the different brushes. Then some grass was painted and lastly some iridescent green dots added around the birds. Little by little i'm was getting closer to the final results of the painting :)
Time for some pictures now or what? ;) (Click on the images for a bigger size)

I've also added some golden dots to the painting however it was too dark to take a good picture so that one will crop up tomorrow or something :)
The painting still got some work left so stay tuned for more pictures and follow me on twitter (@iAmUrmi)! :D
Much love!
